Everything is generated in your browser. We don't store phone numbers, emails or messages on any server.
QR code for your link

How to use the generator in 3 steps
Choose your country and type your number
Select the country code and type the number without the + sign, without spaces and without leading zeros.
Add a message (optional)
This is the text that will appear in the chat when someone opens your link, for example “Hi, I saw your post and I'd like more information”.
Copy the link or download the QR code
Paste the link in your profile, on your website or in an email. With the QR code you can print it on cards, posters or shop windows.
What a WhatsApp link looks like inside
A WhatsApp link is a web address with an official format: https://wa.me/NUMBER?text=MESSAGE. When opened, WhatsApp (on the phone, on WhatsApp Web or in the desktop app) starts a chat with that number and, if you included a message, leaves it typed so the person only has to press send.
A real example of a link with a message:
https://wa.me/573001234567?text=Hola%2C%20quiero%20m%C3%A1s%20informaci%C3%B3n
The rules for it to work are simple:
- The number goes in international format: country code + number, all together. No
+, no spaces, no dashes or brackets. - Don't include leading zeros or local dialing prefixes.
- The message must be URL-encoded (spaces become
%20, and accents and emojis are converted too). QLinky does it for you automatically.
Common country codes: United States and Canada 1, United Kingdom 44, Spain 34, Mexico 52, Brazil 55, Argentina 54, Colombia 57 and Chile 56.
Where you can use your WhatsApp link
- Instagram, TikTok or Facebook bio: one tap and the customer messages you, without copying your number.
- Button on your website or online store: “Message us on WhatsApp” with the message already prepared.
- Email signature and email campaigns: make it easy to reply through the channel people prefer.
- Google Business Profile and ads: a direct link to go from search to chat.
- Printed material: the QR code on cards, menus, posters or shop windows opens the chat with a single scan.
Tips to make your link convert better
- Use a short message that says where the customer comes from. “Hi, I'm coming from your Instagram and I'd like a quote” helps you know which channel works.
- Create a different link for each channel. One for your bio, one for your website and one for the printed QR code, each with its own message.
- Always test the link before publishing it. Use the “Test link” button to confirm it opens the right chat.
- Don't put sensitive data in the pre-filled message. The text travels inside the URL, so leave out passwords, bank details or personal information.
- Print the QR code at least 2 to 3 cm wide and with good contrast so any phone can read it.
If the link doesn't open the chat: check the number
When WhatsApp says the number isn't valid, the problem is almost always one of these three:
- Argentina: mobile numbers take a 9 after the 54 and drop the 15. A Buenos Aires number becomes
5491123456789. - Mexico: today it is 52 plus the 10 digits. The 1 that used to be added after the 52 is no longer used.
- Countries where mobile numbers are dialed with a leading 0 (Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay, Venezuela, United Kingdom): that 0 is dropped when writing the international number.

Frequently asked questions
How do I create a WhatsApp link with a message?
Choose your country code, type your number without the + sign and without spaces, add the message in its box and press “Generate WhatsApp link”. You'll get a URL in the format https://wa.me/NUMBER?text=MESSAGE that you can copy and paste anywhere.
What is the correct format of a WhatsApp link?
The official format is https://wa.me/ followed by the country code and the number, all together. To add a message, append ?text= with the URL-encoded text. For example, for a US number: https://wa.me/13051234567?text=Hello.
Does it work with WhatsApp Business?
Yes. A wa.me link opens a chat with any number that has WhatsApp, whether it is a personal or a WhatsApp Business account.
Does the person need to have my number saved in their contacts?
No. With the wa.me format, WhatsApp opens the chat directly with that number even if it isn't saved, on the phone, on WhatsApp Web and in the desktop app.
Why doesn't my WhatsApp link open the chat?
The most common causes are: writing the number with +, spaces or dashes, forgetting the country code, including a leading zero, or the number not having WhatsApp. Some mobile numbers in Argentina also need a 9 after the country code (54 9 + area code + number, without the 15). Use the “Test link” button to check it before sharing.
Can I download the QR code for my link?
Yes. As soon as you generate the link, a QR code is created. Right-click it (or press and hold on a phone) to save it as an image and use it in printed material.
Does QLinky store my number or my message?
No. Everything is generated in your browser. Neither the number nor the message is sent to or stored on any server.
