Create a Telegram link (t.me) for your user, channel or bot
Type your username and get a t.me link ready to paste in your bio, your website or your campaigns. It also works for channels, public groups and bots.
Everything is generated in your browser. We don't store phone numbers, emails or messages on any server.
How to use the generator in 3 steps
Type your user, channel or bot
Without the @. You can also paste a t.me link and QLinky extracts the name for you.
Add a start parameter (bots only)
It's optional. It lets a bot know which campaign or button the person came from.
Copy the link and share it
Paste it in your bio, on your website, in emails or in ads. Tapping it opens Telegram on your profile, channel or bot.
What a Telegram link looks like inside
A Telegram link is a web address in this format: https://t.me/USERNAME. When opened, the Telegram app (on a phone or a computer) shows that profile, channel, public group or bot. If the person doesn't have Telegram installed, the web version opens.
Examples of the same format:
- A profile:
https://t.me/your_username - A public channel or group:
https://t.me/channel_name - A bot with a start parameter:
https://t.me/my_bot?start=promo2026
The username must be between 5 and 32 characters long and can only use letters, numbers and underscores. If you don't have one yet, you can create it in Telegram under Settings, in your profile section.
Where you can use your Telegram link
- Instagram, TikTok, X or Facebook bio: one tap and the person reaches your channel or your chat.
- Website and email signature: a “Join my channel” or “Message me on Telegram” button.
- Communities and groups: share access to your public channel or group without asking people to search for you by hand.
- Bots and campaigns: with the
startparameter you can tell which ad or post brought each person. - Printed material: turn the link into a QR code with any generator and put it on cards or posters.
Tips and limits
- A pre-filled message isn't reliable on Telegram. Recent versions accept
?text=in a link to a user, but older ones ignore it. For campaigns, the safest option is still the bot start parameter. - The
startparameter only works with bots. It accepts letters, numbers, hyphens and underscores, up to 64 characters. QLinky strips everything else automatically. - Your username must be public. If you haven't set a username yet, the link won't work until you create one.
- Test the link from another device before publishing it to confirm it opens the right destination.
Telegram links that don't use a username
This generator works with public usernames. There are other Telegram links that you get from the app itself:
- Private groups and channels: they use an invite link like
t.me/+code, created in the group info, under “Invite links”. - A specific post in a channel:
t.me/channel/123, copied from the message menu. - Share button:
t.me/share/url?url=…, so your visitors can send a page to their contacts.
They are all explained in the Telegram link types guide.
Frequently asked questions
How do I create a Telegram link?
Type your username (without @) and press “Generate Telegram link”. You'll get a URL in the format https://t.me/USERNAME that you can paste in your bio, your website or your messages.
Can I create a link to a channel or a group?
Yes, as long as the channel or group is public and has a username. The format is the same: https://t.me/NAME.
Can I pre-fill a message, like on WhatsApp?
Not reliably. Recent versions of Telegram accept ?text= in a link to a user, but older ones ignore it. With bots you can use the start parameter to know where each person comes from.
What is the start parameter?
It is a text added at the end of a bot link (?start=text). The bot receives it when the conversation starts and can use it to identify a campaign, a button or a coupon.
What happens if the person doesn't have Telegram?
The link opens in Telegram Web, where they can see the channel or profile and decide whether to install the app.
Does QLinky store my Telegram username?
No. The link is generated in your browser and is not sent to or stored on any server.
